What to know before voting in Tuesday’s general election
Election officials are reminding voters what they need to know before heading to the polls Tuesday.
Mississippi voters must bring an acceptable photo ID to cast their ballots.
Those without one can get a free voter ID card at their county circuit clerk’s office.
For voters who need a ride, the nonprofit Mississippi M.O.V.E is offering free transportation to the polls in 41 counties.
The organization’s co-founder says the service is available regardless of political affiliation. “I don’t care if our politics are different. You have a right to vote just like everybody else. We understand that sometimes people don’t have the ability to get there.”

The polls open Tuesday at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Anyone in line by 7 p.m. will still be allowed to vote.
