Wiggins man arrested after stolen car chase in George and Stone counties
A Wiggins man is in custody after deputies say he led them on a chase in a vehicle reported stolen from George County.
George County Sheriff’s investigators say a 2002 Ford Excursion was reported stolen Sunday.
License plate readers later detected the vehicle entering Stone County on Highway 26.
Stone County deputies located the SUV and say a brief pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed.
Twenty-two-year-old Harley Arkwright was taken into custody. He faces several charges in Stone County, including receiving stolen property and failure to yield to blue lights.
Additional charges are pending in George County.
