Wells Fargo Helps Build Homes

Employees of a local bank invested a little sweat and time for a good cause.
Wells Fargo employees from three states joined forces here on the Coast to help build one of the Coast’s newest Habitat for Humanity homes in Pascagoula. The company didn’t stop there. They also presented an $110,000 check to help with the building of this home and two others on Lanier Street. These three houses will be the first of a 13 home subdivision called Fowler Fields.
Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast CEO Chris Monforton said, “Not everyone is fortunate enough to have access to the programs and services that many of us do. This enables us to be able to support families that typically wouldn’t qualify for a mortgage or be able to purchase a home without assistance of groups like Habitat.”
Wells Fargo Mississippi District Manager Mike Ryan said, “Although I’m not highly skilled, it can be tough personally but very rewarding as well. And to know that a family is going to be here in this community with sustained housing, affordable housing. That’s very important to us and we’re proud of that.”
Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast CEO says he hopes all three houses will be done by the holidays.
