Watch Ocean Springs Middle School Choir’s Carnegie Hall Performance
Back in June, the Ocean Springs Middle School choir performed in the Big Apple and now it is your chance to watch them at Carnegie Hall.
Seventy students sang six songs, all in Spanish, after being nationally selected through a major audition. Over the course of a few months, the students practiced daily for their big performance in June.
Unfortunately the trip was very costly and there was no recording allowed at Carnegie Hall. Ocean Springs Middle School did receive an official DVD of the performance and now they want to share it with the Gulf Coast. Ocean Springs Middle School Principal Adelle Register said, “A public viewing, free of charge, that way family members that were not able to attend can see their children on stage as well as the community members that gave forth the donations to make it happen.”
Razaria Copeland performed at Carnegie Hall with the choir. She said, “It’s great for me to be able to have that experience, especially at a young age. It was great to come back down here and see how it is to help others who want to go up there as well.”
You can head to the free public viewing tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the Ocean Springs High School auditorium.
Donations will also be accepted for the Ocean Springs Middle School Choir.
