Voters hit the polls in Harrison County

Polls opened in South Mississippi at 7 this morning and residents in Harrison County started lining up to cast their ballots bright and early.

Coast residents have the chance to vote on numerous judicial races in each county as well as the U.S Senate seat, U.S. House of Representatives for District 4, and a special election for senator.

Harrison County resident Don Hanson tells News 25 instead of being annoyed with the long lines to vote, he is actually excited to have to wait. “The last mid-term election, I was in and out in about 10 minutes. It’s my civic duty. My father was a Navy man and he really pushed it that you go out and vote when you get the chance.”

Polls will close at 7 this evening. As long as you are in line by 7 you will be allowed to vote.
