VA Medical Center Town Hall

Today, veterans receiving health care services from the Biloxi VA Medical Center had an opportunity to weigh in on many of the services the Gulf Coast VA Health Care System provides.

Representatives from the Biloxi National Cemetery and the VA Regional Benefits Office in Jackson were on hand to answer questions about any VA related service.

Biloxi National Cemetery Director Shawn Hamner told News 25 one frequently asked question is will the National Cemetery continue to grow? “They are going to use space that isn’t used right now, essentially for grave sites, and that is going to extend the life about 14 years. They are going to build a new columnbarium and that’s going to extend the burial benefit for about 30 years.”

Hamner says they are hopeful the National Cemetery will purchase new land in Biloxi to be able to grow even more.
