Community gathers for annual Veterans Celebration in D’Iberville

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WXXV)- Veterans and their families filled the D’Iberville Communtiy Center Thursday for the annual celebration of veterans.

City leaders and event sponsors offered free food, prizes, and entertainment as a way of saying thank you.

The event also featured a health fair to connect veterans with a number of resources available to them. Saad Healthcare Owner Dorothy Saad Dunning said, “It’s just a day to say thank you. Thank you because without them and their service, we wouldn’t be here today. We do this event every year, but we have outgrown this building and we’re gonna be in a larger building. We may do one mid-year, but this is our big event for the veterans.”

Organizers say they were excited about the turnout and hope to accommodate even more people next year.
