USM Gulf Park Celebrates Health and Fitness Week

It’s “Health and Fitness Week” at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.
This week-long slate of health and wellness themed activities includes opportunities for students, faculty and staff to become engaged in opportunities to promote fitness. Different activities that vary throughout the week include a bone marrow registry drive and walk, yoga classes and lunch and learn sessions that focus on different wellness topics such as stress management and healthy eating habits.
“We are so excited to offer these amenities to our students in our health and fitness center. It is wonderful to be able to promote health and wellness here on this campus,” said Director of Student Affairs Christy Bjork Elias.
Fitness Center student worker Danquane Mickel said, “It’s all about just getting fit and just getting the people out and being more active, not just on campus but in everyday life.”
