Two people escape Long Beach house fire

A Sunday night house fire sent one of the residents to the hospital.

The residence was on Johnson Road, which is between Espy Avenue and Pineville Road off of Oreck Road near the Industrial Park.

Harrison County fire chief Pat Sullivan said eight trucks and 17 firefighters from Harrison County, Long Beach and CRTC responded to the structure fire.

Two people escaped the fire, but one of them had to be taken to the hospital.

Sullivan said the cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.
