Tupelo Officer not Indicted

A prosecutor says a Mississippi grand jury has declined to indict a Tupelo police officer in a June 18th shooting that left a man dead.
District Attorney John Weddle said Monday that Lee County grand jurors cleared Officer Tyler Cook, whom officials say shot Antwun ‘Ronnie’ Shumpert four times when Shumpert attacked him after emerging from a hiding place under a house.
Shumpert’s family members have alleged the shooting was unjustified, suing the city in federal court seeking $35 million in damages.
