Tourism leaders unveil new campaign

Say hello to ‘Coastal Mississippi: the Secret Coast.”

That’s the new brand that was revealed tonight for ‘Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast.’ Administrators say this new brand comes after a year’s long rebranding process and lots of research. They hope ‘Coastal Mississippi’ as a brand will show off the uniqueness of the area.

One of their goals is to give the feel of a beach and casino destination alongside everything else the Coast has to offer.

Many South Mississippi and tourism industry officials came out tonight to Jones Park where they unveiled the new brand.

Coastal Mississippi CEO Milton Segarra says they know this new brand will show off the uniqueness of our region. “It’s important that people realize that for us here on the Coast, tourism is very important. More than 31,000 jobs depends on tourism. More than 200 million dollars in taxes comes this way because of tourism and with this new brand we are going to increase the number of visitors. We are going to create more jobs, more investment coming to the Coast and most importantly the quality of life will be better.”

‘Coastal Mississippi’ will have new commercials and billboards spread throughout Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi soon to boost the new branding.
