Third annual Craft Beer Fest at MGM Park

If you’re a fan of beer then you were probably at MGM Park on Saturday.

The Biloxi Chamber of Commerce hosted their third annual craft beer fest at the home of the Shuckers. Breweries from around the region gathered at the park for the fest, giving out samples of their product.

Over 50 craft breweries were represented at the festival, along with food from exclusive dining and catering.

Rachael Seymour with the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce tells News 25 that it was important to bring back another beer fest to the Gulf Coast. “There was a beer festival that kind of left the area. So, we felt the need to bring it back. We also really wanted to enhance our local breweries. Lazy Magnolia, Biloxi Brewing, Chandeleur, it’s really becoming a big segment of the market here and we wanted to support that.”

Gulfport resident Matthew Longstaff said, “What better venue than the baseball stadium here in Biloxi. It’s awesome. There are so many local breweries that their stuff is great you know. A lot of people wouldn’t know how good their product is if they didn’t come out here. It’s a real cool thing. I like to drink beer, a lot of people like to drink beer. If you like to drink beer, this is the spot to be.”

Seymour tells News 25 that the chamber plans on continuing to build the fest, with hopes of one day holding the event on the baseball field.
