The Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain Director Spoke at Biloxi Rotary Club Today

The Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain is a member supported non-profit organization that serves to protect the six coastal counties’ natural lands, scenic areas, fresh water resources, and wildlife habitat. Director Judy Steckler was a featured speaker at today’s Biloxi Rotary Club meeting.
In light of recent BP oil spill settlements, the Land Trust has been working closely with other non-profit organizations. This is all part of a concentrated effort to be a part of planning and suggesting projects to ensure any BP settlement money is used wisely and allocated toward the purpose of Gulf restoration.
“I hope to see lots of land restoration and preservation so we can continue to have great seafood to offer our citizens and visitors to the Gulf Coast, for example,” said Steckler.
The Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain invites everyone to come out to the Heritage Trust’s Hurricane Katrina Preservation Trail where they have two properties open for visitors. For more information or to buy tickets visit savemyplacems.com.
