The Gulfport Chamber of Commerce Teacher Grants Program

The Gulfport Chamber of Commerce announced this week that applications for 2015 Gulfport Teacher Grants are now available.  This initiative will award grants, ranging from $250 to $500, to educators with innovative or imaginative programs that directly benefit students.

The goal of this education initiative is to help fund programs that are not otherwise funded by the school, the school district, or the state. With recent cuts impacting school budgets, teacher grant programs like this are imperative to help educators remain innovative giving them the tools to provide an excellent education.

In 2014, with help from local businesses, over $4500 was awarded to teachers in Harrison County School District and Gulfport School District.

A complete list of eligible schools is included on application.

Criteria and application can be found on the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce’s page on The application must be received at the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18th.

For any additional information regarding application, please contact Emily Pickering at or 228-604-0014.
