‘Swing for a Cause’ Golf Tournament tees off in Bay St. Louis

The ‘Swing for a Cause’ Golf Tournament teed off at the Bridges Golf Course in Bay St. Louis today.

This tournament helps raise funds for the Hancock County Community Development Foundation. The foundation was established in May 2006 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to act as an umbrella organization for 20 nonprofit causes for projects with a broad community focus.

The foundation has been a pipeline in receiving more than $7 million in grants and donations to sponsor and support educational and community programs that stimulate job creation, foster small business growth, and support workforce development.

Hancock County Community Foundation President Wendy McDonald said, “Our sponsors and participants make this foundation so successful and we could not make the charitable contributions we do without support and events like this.”
