Stage set for St. Patrick’s Dat Parade

If you’re looking for fun festivities on the Gulf Coast this weekend, it looks like the luck of the Irish is with you.
The City of Biloxi is gearing up for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, put on by the Hibernia Marching Society, set to kick off at 2 p.m. this Saturday. To add to the party, A St. Patty’s Day 5K and ‘Grillin’ on the Green’ will also take place in downtown Biloxi that day.
With everything taking place in a concentrated area, city leaders want residents and motorists to be aware of the crowds expected for the celebration. Cecilia Dobbs-Walton with City of Biloxi Public Affairs said, “There’s a lot of activity going on. The City of Biloxi does have a traffic plan. Roads will be closing. There will be reduced two-way traffic. So, just motorists need to be cautious in the area. They need to be patient. They need to be mindful of officers and traffic cones and just have fun in downtown Biloxi.”
You can pick up a copy of the traffic plans at various city buildings or go online at Biloxi.ms.us.
