St. Patrick softball standouts sign with Jones County Junior College

Identical twins stole the show over at St. Patrick this evening as Raven and Raylen Blackwell signed to play softball at the next level.
They’ll be heading up to Jones County Junior College which is a perennial power on the national stage finishing as NJCAA runners up in three out of the last four years.
Having started on varsity together for the Lady Irish since the seventh grade, the twins say they were always gonna be a package deal and it was always gonna be JCJC. “It’s actually pretty great cause I can’t really see us like splitting up, so we’re excited for it.” “And it’s very exciting, it’s a good time, glad we’re going to be together.” “Yeah. It was kind of easy, it was like that’s the right one and it just happened. Clicked, yeah. (Were you guys always going to go somewhere together?) Oh yeah. I guess, I mean we haven’t really thought. (so you were sold on it and you) no, we really just haven’t thought of anything other than that.”
Raven and Raylen have been on varsity for two of St. Patrick’s three state championships. The Lady Bobcats have five of those in eight years under Chris Robinson’s watch.
