Spreading the Love: Adopt-A-Grandparent Volunteers Doubled

Across the nation today, people are taking time out to honor their grandparents. Locally, work is underway to prepare for special weekend visits with seniors across the Coast.
It’s all part of the second annual Adopt-A-Grandparent Day, started up by Marston Rogers Insurance last year. So far, more than 500 volunteers have signed up to visit with nursing home residents across the Coast, that’s almost double the number from last year.
Event organizer Kathy Rogers said, “We have a lot of people signed up but we need a few more people to visit in Hancock County and Jackson County. We have a few more openings over there, so we’d love for folks to get in touch with us and go and visit.”
If you’d like to sign up, go to the website marstonrogers.com and click on the nursing home where you’d like to volunteer. This year there are 21 local nursing homes to choose from.
