Sound Surge Show Choir Takes First Place

The Biloxi High School Sound Surge Show Choir is surging their way to the top, making quite a name for themselves in the state and prepping to travel to the Big Apple.
The group of talented high school students swept the competition at our state capital over the weekend, taking home the first place trophy in their division. The Jackson Preparatory Show Choir Masters Competition was just the first of many competitions the young performers will embark on this year.
They plan on performing at the Empire State Building in New York in March.
Dance Captain Savannah Belcher said, “It was our first competition, so we were all pretty nervous. Yeah, we’re returning but a lot of the new members, they’ve never done anything like that before, so it was a lot of nerves but we pulled it off.”
Senior Nathanial Morrow said, “Our first competition was probably the most nerve-wracking, nerve-wracking for me because I love this group so much and we’ve done so much together and the last three years, we went from losing all of our first year to this beautiful trophy right here and it just makes me want to shed tears all the time.”
The Sound Surge will be competing this Saturday at the South Jones Invitational in Ellisville.
