Shooting Suspect At Large: Live Report

One Suspect John Heflin is behind bars and the other suspect Briceston Fairley still at large in response to last week shooting.
The Gulfport Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 18-year-old John Michael Heflin and 18-year-old Briceston John Lewis Fairley on the charge of Aggravated Assault.
On August 17, 2017, at approximately 7:12 p.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to 12000 Block of Prudie Circle for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old male victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound. American Medical Response (AMR) was summoned to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital.
During follow-up investigations, Heflin and Fairley were developed as the suspects involved in the assault. Based on the information received, warrants were obtained for their arrests on the charge of Aggravated Assault.
What led to the shooting is still under investigation.
