Shooting at Broadway Inn Express

Biloxi Police are investigation a shooting that broke out at the Broadway Inn Express in Biloxi, landing one man in the hospital with a single gunshot wound.
Christopher, who asked to simply go by Christopher, was in the hotel when the shooting happened, said, “I just got through feeding my little baby, and I came out for a cigarette and there was blood all over my door, blood all over the sidewalk.” He said he could hear loud screaming, gunshots and scuffling outside his door. He tells News 25 he didn’t walk outside his hotel room until he was sure the coast was clear.
As for what led up to the shooting, Christopher says, “Well it was pretty quiet out here. It was 3:30 in the morning and it sounded like a female’s voice arguing with a man, so I paid no attention. And then I heard gunshots and until I knew it slacked off, I wasn’t coming out my door.” One witness tells News 25 after he heard the argument break out and the shooting happened, the victim walked down this walkway covered in blood, nearly falling into his doorway.
Biloxi police spent much of the day combing the hotel for evidence and interviewing witnesses. Michael Wills, Major of Investigations, said, “ We believe based on the interviews that we’ve done so far that everybody involved knew each other or at least knew of each other. They were not complete strangers, and that’s the leads that we’re following up on now.”
“We have detained one person of interest. We’re still looking for at least one other person of interest, and as of right now no arrests have been made,” said Wills.
As for the victim of this shooting, he’s said to be recovering after surgery at a local hospital. There is still no word yet on a motive.
