Victim identified in fatal head-on collision on Highway 43

On July 12, 2019 The Mississippi Highway Patrol investigated a fatal crash in Hancock County that occurred on Highway 43 near Lee Town Road at approximately 2:47 p.m, which claimed the life of a young female.

Upon arriving on scene, it appeared that a 2004 Silver Honda Accord driven by Emily Goss, a 17-year-old female of Picayune, was traveling north on Hwy 43 when the vehicle she was driving crossed the center line and traveled into the southbound lane. The silver Honda accord crashed head on into a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado that was driven by Michael Roberts, a 53-year-old male from Picayune.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was transported to Hancock Medical Center for moderate injuries. The unrestrained driver of the Honda Accord was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
