Sentencing for DUI causing injury
A Gulfport man sits behind bars after pleading guilty to a DUI that severely injured a woman in 2015. William Horner was sentenced to 25 years with 18 years to serve.
In June 2015, Horner crashed head on with Bethanie Jones’ vehicle on the Popp’s Ferry Bridge. The crash left Jones unconscious with life threatening injuries. Doctors had to perform brain surgery after she suffered a major stroke.
A blood test determined Horner had seven substances in his system including methamphetamine.
