Pearl River Softball Celebrates Historic 2026 Season with National Championship Rings

It was a special night at Pearl River Community College as the Wildcats softball team celebrated a historic 2026 season with a championship ring reveal.

Before Pearl River’s football game Thursday night, the softball team gathered for a team dinner at the program’s new outdoor kitchen, reflecting on an incredible season that ended with a national championship.

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the team’s stunning World Series championship rings.

The rings feature the Wildcats logo above the World Series trophy, with the team’s impressive 48-7 overall record displayed along the bottom and the words “National Champions” surrounding the design.

The sides of the rings include each player’s name and number, along with the opponents and final scores from the Wildcats’ undefeated run through the World Series tournament.

Head coach Christie Meeks shared what the rings mean to her and the program after a season the team will never forget.

“It’s all of these girls, the relationships that we were able to build and the pride we have in the school and what it means to Pearl River and to the community. That’s what it’s all about anyways. That’s what I think of when I look at it and it just makes my heart smile to know that we were able to bring joy back into this community and to Pearl River with what we were able to do,” said Coach Meeks.

The softball team was also recognized during Thursday night’s football game for its championship accomplishments, joining Pearl River’s baseball, cheer and basketball teams in a celebration of the college’s athletic success.

It was a memorable night for the Wildcats as they celebrated a championship season and added another special moment to an unforgettable year at The River!
