Scott LoBaido Visits Coast to Paint American Flag on VFW

An artist leaving his mark across the states by painting American flags to honor veterans stopped in Gulfport Tuesday.

Celebrated artist, Scott LoBaido, arrived in his hand painted, American themed car, Betsy. He will be in Gulfport until Thursday to paint the whole side of the VFW Post 2539 with the American flag. Gulfport is his sixth stop on his Painting Flags Across America Tour. He hopes to paint at least one building in each state. LoBaido has been an artist all of his life, but realized his passion was painting Old Glory to honor those who have given so much for this country.

LoBaido says, “Everyone comes here and I meet cultures. That’s what we are. We are a clash of cultures. That’s what America is, so she’s worth fighting for. These men and women do it, so I’m here to support them and say we are grateful for how you are defending and keeping us free.”

LoBaido’s hand painted car is also on auction during his tour and the highest bidder’s contribution will go towards Building for America’s Bravest, an organization that builds smart homes for veterans with amputations.
