‘She Said’ Festival happening at B’Lux this Saturday

There’s a festival happening in Biloxi this Saturday benefiting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

It’s called the ‘She Said Fest’ and it’ll be taking place at B’Lux on I’berville Drive in Biloxi. All proceeds will benefit the Center for Violence Prevention and local shelters on the Coast.

Alex Carr, the lead vocalist of NVision, one of the six bands performing in the festival, decided to put on the festival as a way to help those who are often voiceless.

The name of the festival comes from one of the band’s hit songs ‘She Said,’ a song that captures raw emotion from the stories of sexual assault victims. Carr said, “This isn’t something that everybody thinks about everyday unless you have experienced it and you have to deal with that trauma or you have to deal with the PTSD from those events. We were like ‘what can we do to help?’ This is kind of the solution we came up with together as artists to help the need in our community.”

The doors open at 5 and they’ll be collecting $5 donations. There will be giveaways and a silent auction.
