Ryan’s “Wintry Mix?” Monday Night Forecast
I hope you enjoyed your sunny and warmer weekend because rain and even the chance of some wintry weather is moving in. The clouds will begin to move in by 10 o’clock, but the showers hold off for a few hours more.
THERE’S A VERY SMALL WINDOW OF TIME BETWEEN 6 AM AND 9 AM WHERE FREEZING RAIN AND/OR SNOW FLURRIES ARE POSSIBLE, BUT IT WOULD BE LITTLE MORE THAN A NOVELTY OCCURRENCE AND WON’T HAVE THE CHANCE TO ACCUMULATE.
What it will do is create hazardous driving conditions. The roads themselves won’t have that much of an opportunity to freeze by tomorrow morning, but bridges and overpasses are a little more susceptible and will likely be slick.
MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO TREAT OVERPASSES AS IF THEY ARE ICY AND DRIVE SLOWLY, DON’T ACCELERATE QUICKLY, AND GIVE YOURSELF DOUBLE THE TIME/SPACE TO STOp.
The front fully passes through soon after and he skies begin clearing by noon as the wind shifts from the North and increases. Our afternoon high of 47 degrees coupled with a 20-25 mph wind will keep wind chills in the low 40s and upper 30s all day, with Hard Freeze conditions expected overnight on Tuesday.
