Ryan’s “Frozen Monday” Forecast

It will be a very cold night tonight in South MS, with temps dropping below freezing in the Northern coastal counties, and very close to freezing on the waterfront. Extra precautions should be taken to protect outdoor pets, plants, and plumbing. Daytime highs will struggle to go much higher than the low 50s, with inland areas topping out in the upper 40s. A brisk wind will remain prevalent throughout the day, starting northerly and slowly moving eastward. Tuesday night will be more cloudy and slightly warmer, dropping to 36 along the waterfront, with some inland areas still remaining at or below freezing. The Gulfport Salvation Army will be opening the cold weather shelters Monday and Tuesday night, it is located at the Salvation Army Area Command Headquarters at 2019 22nd St., Gulfport.
