Republican Party candidates uniting to remove Palazzo
Republican Party primary candidates are uniting to try to remove Steven Palazzo from office.
Sheriff Mike Ezell held a press conference this morning at the Great Southern Club in Gulfport where he announced endorsements from all five of his former GOP challengers.
Considering 68 percent of all voters in the 4th Congressional District Republican Primary voted for candidates other than Steven Palazzo, they believe working together they can remove him from office.
Among those standing next to Ezell as he made the announcement were Clay Wagner, Carl Boyanton, and Senator Brice Wiggins.
Wiggins once worked alongside Sheriff Ezell at the DA’s Office and says he’ll gladly support him moving forward. “This is the people’s seat. This is not Mr. Palazzo’s seat. This is not Sheriff Ezell’s seat. This is not Brice Wiggins’ seat. Sheriff Ezell recognizes that.”
Sheriff Ezell said, “We feel very good about the next three weeks. We’re going to be working. We ask that people go out and vote. It’s very important that people get out and vote.”
The primary runoff is set for Tuesday, June 28th.
Tomorrow on WXXV, U.S. Congressman Steven Palazzo will join us in studio for an interview.
