Coast Transit Authority bus service to end at Edgewater Mall stop
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- Coast Transit Authority announced it will no longer service Edgewater Mall in Biloxi.
The change will impact several bus stops in the area and could affect riders who regularly use the mall as a transit hub.
WXXV News 25’s Brynne Baxley spoke with transit officials and a rider about the change.
Starting Sunday, November 8, Coast Transit Authority buses will no longer stop at Edgewater Mall.
CTA Executive Director Michael Reso says the decision was made by the mall’s new management.
The Edgewater Mall stop near the parking garage will be eliminated, along with both Murphy Express bus stop and the stop on Old Eisenhower Drive near Wendy’s.
One rider says he is lucky to have the bus service, but the change will be an inconvenience. Biloxi resident Joseph Albertson said, “This is the first time I’m hearing this. This is really gonna be, I don’t know what I’m gonna do because I use the mall as an interchange between the two buses.”
Because Edgewater Mall served as a fare zone location, the Walmart Supercenter on CT Switzer Dr. will now serve as the fare zone location for routes one and 34.
