Red, White and Blueberry Festival

It was a tasty and patriotic sight in Ocean Springs on Saturday as dozens of people flocked to the L&N Depot Plaza for the Red, White, and Blueberry Festival.
The event offered a variety of blueberry products, fresh produce, crafts, antiques, and much more. People of all ages lined up to take advantage of the free vanilla ice cream topped with their choice of blueberries or strawberries, courtesy of the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce.
This is the 12th year for the celebration. Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cynthia Sutton said, “This is just a great community event that we just put on once a year to generate a little bit of traffic to town, celebrate the local grower season with the blueberries and just fun things like that.”
Even though Saturday was filled with cloudy skies and scattered showers, it didn’t stop people from swapping blueberry recipes and staying outdoors for cooking demonstrations.
