Recovery efforts underway for residents impacted by flooding
About 25 people are currently staying in an emergency shelter in Harrison County after flooding displaced families across the area.
Local emergency management and community partners are working to support those impacted while long-term recovery efforts are now underway.
The Salvation Army is assisting with food recovery and vouchers are being provided to flood victims so they can shop for clothing at local thrift stores as donations remain limited.
Officials say donations are needed and should be limited to requested items including bottled water, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, personal care items, trash bags, and work gloves.
Monetary donations are accepted through the Harrison County Long Term Recovery Committee.
Harrison County officials are encouraging residents to keep reporting flood damage as recovery efforts move forward.
