Pleads guilty to assaulting nurse

A Saucier man is sentenced to four and a half years to serve in prison for assaulting a nurse at Memorial Hospital.

Thirty-five year-old Lance Hagin pled guilty to the crime on August 20th. The assault happened in March 2016 at Memorial Hospital where Hagin was admitted as a patient.

Surveillance video showed Hagin grabbing a nurse from behind with his arm around her throat, strangling her. He dragged her and pulled her to the ground before several other nurses came to help the victim.

Hagin was ordered to serve every day of his sentence without early release as he is a habitual offender.
