Pass Christian police searching for possible sexual predator

Police are looking for a man who allegedly made sexually explicit comments to two young girls outside a Walmart in Pass Christian. Authorities say the man is a possible sexual predator and a potential danger to the community.
Police are searching for a man caught on surveillance video who authorities are calling a possibly dangerous sexual predator. Police say the man approached two young girls who were unloading groceries at the Walmart in Pass Christian shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday. Pass Christian Police Chief Tim Hendricks said, “He used some very graphic language to them in a sexual nature and it scared one of the juveniles. She screamed.”
After a scream for help, the man fled from the parking lot in what police say was a 1980s to mid-1990s style truck. Chief Hendricks says the alarming words the man said to the two young girls has police on a mission to identify the suspect as soon as possible. Pass Christian Resident Alex Lamburt, who was shopping with his daughter at the Walmart Thursday, hopes authorities find him soon. “It’s very important to me. I have kids and I have grandkids and I certainly wouldn’t want them approached by a sexual predator at any time.”
The suspect is a white male. Before the incident he’s seen walking around Walmart wearing a black baseball cap, white t-shirt and tan shorts. The suspect is possibly in his 50s with a medium build, about 5’5” with dark hair that is turning gray/white. “Pick them up as soon as they can and put him away as soon as they can. We do not need people like that running on the streets,” said Lamburt.
Police tell News 25 that they are taking this matter very seriously. If you have any information that could help them with their investigation they’re asking you to call Crime Stoppers or the Pass Christian Police Department. “We want to protect our children, police officers, we have kids, too. It’s something that we don’t want to see and we want to get this guy off the street,” said Chief Hendricks.
