Pass Christian gymnasium groundbreaking and more

Next February, the Pass Christian School District will have a brand new gymnasium for their elementary and middle school students. That’s just the beginning.
Today, school district officials broke ground for the new facility in front of the Center for Excellence. Since the elementary and middle school were rebuilt following Katrina without a gym, more than one thousand students have shared the gym at the Boys and Girls Club.
Last year, voters decided to pass a ten million dollar bond issue that will be used to fund the new gym, along with a new band hall.
They will also use the money to move students at the alternative school out of Katrina mobile units and into a new facility.
Upgrades to the district’s football and baseball facilities are in the works as well.
