Pass Christian football practice shut down after coaching staff member test positive for COVID
When the Mississippi High School Activities Association opened things back up for the start of off-season workouts on June 1st, it was only a matter of time before the inevitable happened.
As first reported by the Sun Herald and later confirmed by News 25, Pass Christian High School and Middle School football practices have been shut down after a member of the coaching staff tested positive for COVID-19.
Pass Christian Athletic Director Tim Ladner declines to identify the coach who tested positive on Saturday and expects the hiatus to last for two weeks, starting today.
Players had been taking part in group drills on the field, leading up to the start of the 2020 season.
Ladner says the parents have been notified and that players and coaches in attendance this summer have been asked to be on the lookout for any coronavirus symptoms during the shutdown.
