Over 600 Attend Job Fair at Coast Coliseum

Around 600 people went to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi Wednesday in search of a job.

The Unemployment Eliminators hosted the job fair. Attendees were able to meet with over 50 different employers face to face. Anyone is welcome to these job fairs, but the Unemployment Eliminators say their aim is to help military vets who may be searching for work.

Jennie Woodrum, President of Unemployment Eliminators, says, "We really try to go towards our veterans to help them find gainful employment after they’ve served our country, but we also leave our job fairs open to the public so anyone is welcome to come in."

Paul Glover, CBI military recruiter, says, "Right now, we’re hiring heavy equipment operators. We are definitely looking for military veterans because I’m a former vet myself, so with the recruiting program for the company, that allows us to hire some of the vets that we have."

Unemployment Eliminators holds these job fairs three times a year. The next one will be held on July 22nd at the Coast Coliseum from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
