Ocean Springs man charged in South Pointe shooting
An Ocean Springs man was jailed Saturday after allegedly shooting two people in the South Pointe community near St. Andrews.
Sheriff Mike Ezell said that about 11:30 Saturday morning, Michael Gregory Richard, 42, shot his estranged wife and her friend as they drove past his home on Gannet Lane.
Both victims were hit once in the leg. They drove themselves to Ocean Springs Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Shortly after the shooting, investigators took Richard into custody. He is in the Jackson County jail, charged with domestic violence aggravated assault. No bond has been set.
The investigation is ongoing with other charges pending.
