Ocean Springs man arrested for suspected arson on Bowen Avenue early Friday morning

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV) — Police arrested a man in connection to a suspected arson on Bowen Avenue in Ocean Springs early Friday morning.

Just after midnight, Ocean Springs Police received reports of the fire and responded along with Ocean Springs Fire.

Crews were able to put the fire out, keeping it contained to the front yard.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered the suspect poured gasoline on the front door, porch, steps and front lawn of this residence. The gasoline was lit but did not spread to the surrounding areas or structure.

Police were able to quickly identify a suspect. Shortly after, 35-year-old Patrick Cobb, of Ocean Springs, was arrested and charged with Fourth Degree Arson.

Authorities say more charges are pending and this incident is under investigation.
