Ocean Springs Chamber holds Lunch with Legislators event

The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce Main Street Tourism Bureau hosted their Lunch with Legislators event at Phoenicia Gourmet Restaurant.

At the luncheon, community members and business leaders heard from Representative Hank Zuber, Senator Brice Wiggins, and Representative John Read in a relaxed setting.

Each legislator provided a brief update on what they have been working on while in office. They touched on Ocean Springs receiving $2 million to relocate the public works and $700,000 to make repairs to the Mary C. O’Keefe. Senator Brice Wiggins said, “Talked about the BP, GCRF funds that we appropriated around $50 million to the Coast projects. In other funding sources, we got a lot for Jackson County which the county itself along with Ocean Springs did really, really well.”

After the legislators provided an update, guests were able to ask questions about what will go on during the next season.
