Nolan Wells family, legal team gives updates at press conference

NASHVILLE, TN. (WXXV)-Thursday, the legal team representing the family of Nolan Wells shared an update on the investigation at the National Urban League’s Conference in Nashville.

Attorney Eric Hertz says the legal team continues to work with the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.

He says DA Angel Myers McIlrath is willing to listen to some of the evidence their team has gathered.

Although he says they are still allegedly waiting on her office to give back some evidence.

Previously, Ben Crump announced that his team and the DA’s Office agreed to a ‘mutual inspection’ of Wells’ cell phone. Hertz said, “The phones, not just our client’s phones, but the other phones that are involved in this situation, we are trying to coordinate and have come to a tentative agreement with the district attorney to go ahead and have them investigated together jointly with our experts as well as their experts, and I believe, if I’m not speaking out of turn, the FBI is gonna also be present there and that’s going to show a lot of stuff that we haven’t seen.”

Crump’s team did not clarify whose phone, beside Nolan’s, they want to investigate nor did they say when that joint inspection might take place.
