New Long Beach chief of police

The City of Long Beach Board of Alderman and Mayor George Bass named William Seal as chief of police for the Long Beach Police Department effective October 1st.
Chief Billy Seal began his career in 1994 with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department before he transferred to Long Beach PD in 1996. Seal served in multiple roles from patrolman to commander to internal affairs and administration duties over the past 20 years.
Seal is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. Seal is a long time resident of Long Beach.
