National Guard Looks Into Claims Against Congressman Steven Palazzo
The National Guard is speaking out about claims lodged at Congressman Steven Palazzo.
Public affairs manager, Lt. Col. Christian Patterson tells News 25, the National Guard is looking into the claims but as of now there have been no internal complaints against Palazzo and that the info they have gathered says he has good service years toward retirement in 2013 through 2015.
In a fourth congressional debate at USM’s Gulf Park Campus, independent Ric McCluskey alleged that the incumbent went AWOL from his National Guard duty while serving in Bravo Company with the 1-155 Combined Arms Battalion in Poplarville.
Jill Duckworth from Palazzo’s office tells News 25, the accusations are completely false.
In part of a statement issued by Congressman Palazzo, the incumbent says quote: “This is a ridiculous accusation and a desperate attempt to smear a soldier’s service solely for political gain.”
