Morning Fire Destroys Gautier Home

A total loss is how officials are describing a Gautier home where firefighters spent hours battling flames throughout the morning.
The Gautier Fire Department arrived on the scene at the home on Ferry Point Road shortly after 8:30 this morning. Four people were inside the home at the time. All occupants made it out safely, including the owner who is disabled.
News 25 spoke with Carly Tyson, the granddaughter of the homeowner. She says she’s glad her family is safe, but sad to see the home she grew up in go down in flames. “It’s pretty sad, I mean all the memories. To think we won’t be able to come back to the same house. All of my stuff was in the house from when we moved out in May, so we lost a bunch of stuff, but I’m sure we can get stuff back.”
No word yet on what caused the fire.
