Mississippi officials say be wary of medical marijuana scams

The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office and the Mississippi Department of Health are urging the public to stay cautious of medical marijuana scams.

Since passage of Initiative 65 last month, the attorney general’s office has received questions about advertisements claiming to offer pre-registration for medical marijuana cards in Mississippi.

Attorney General Lynn Fitch says that their office will remain vigilant and work with MSDH to protect the health and safety of Mississippi consumers.

Fitch urges residents to be wary of any misleading messages prompting to put you ahead of the line for access to medical marijuana in Mississippi.

The MSDH has not issued any regulations pursuant to Initiative 65 nor has it licensed any providers at this time and any information regarding medical marijuana will be posted by the Mississippi Department of Health.
