Mississippi Highway Patrol warns about texting and driving

Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop K is offering a word to the wise.

On the front lawn of the MHP Station is a severely damaged vehicle as a result of texting and driving along with a sign that reads “don’t text and drive.”

Trooper Calvin Robertson says this is just a friendly reminder to motorists that driving distracted could have dire consequences. “We see texting and driving while I’m at work and while I’m off work. It’s important to pay attention to the road and not be distracted by your telephone.”
