Mississippi Dept. of Health reports 1,227 new COVID-19 cases, 19 deaths Monday morning
(WXXV) — The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting an additional 1,227 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 19 deaths as of Monday, January 11, 2021.
One death was reported in Harrison County.
In the southernmost six counties of Mississippi, the numbers of COVID-19 cases were as follows:
- George — 1,897 (17 new)
- Hancock — 2,370 (13 new)
- Harrison — 12,347 (95 new)
- Jackson — 9,717 (92 new)
- Pearl River — 3,041 (15 new)
- Stone — 1,358 (4 new)
Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases now stands at 240,309, with 5,186 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 25 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and 4 deaths. There are currently 221 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
182,103 people in Mississippi are presumed to have recovered from COVID-19.
