Mississippi Aquarium progress

Progress is being made toward the Mississippi Aquarium in downtown Gulfport.
The project now has a general contractor to start work. The contractor will be out in the area within the next week or two beginning to put the foundation of the building together.
Chief Executive Officer David Kimmel tells News 25 he is excited to move on toward the next step.“I just can’t wait to get construction started. Having our animal acquisition start later this year and have our focus to not only building, but towards opening day.”
The aquarium plans to open either the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020.
