Memorial Surgeons Perform More Than 1,000 Robotic Assisted Surgeries

Memorial has achieved another milestone! Their surgeons have performed over 1,000 cases using the da Vinci® Si HD robotic assisted surgery system since the surgical option was introduced at Memorial Hospital in April 2010. These cases have included single incision laparoscopic surgery; hysterectomy; pediatric pyloplasty; total or partial removal of the prostate, bladder, or kidney; kidney reconstruction; and removal of the gallbladder, spleen, and colon.

The following 14 surgeons have been instrumental in performing over 1,000 cases using robotic assisted surgery for their patients: Dr. Champ Weeks, Urologic Surgeon / Medical Director of Robotic Surgery; Gynecologists Dr. Donielle Daigle, Dr. Don Gaddy, Dr. Jim Gaddy, Dr. Keith Goodfellow, Dr. Shahira Hanna, Dr. Thomas Lehman, Dr. Michael McKay, Dr. John Pappas, Dr. Joanna Trus, Dr. Alicia Ware, and General Surgeons Dr. Scott Blackburn, Dr. Kristine Carter, and Dr. Derek Ware.
