Medical Marijuana on the ballots in Mississippi

Mississippi will choose between two medical marijuana ballot questions today.

Initiative 65 and Alternative 65A would both legalize medical marijuana, but with different approaches.

Initiative 65 would allow a doctor to prescribe up to five ounces of marijuana per month. People with at least one of more than 20 medical conditions would qualify.

Alternative 65A was written by members of the Mississippi Legislature. It would allow only people with terminal illnesses to access medical marijuana.
